dental fillings recommendations during pregnancy or in small kids

When I started to tread into the integrative health field I heard rumblings from its members about the dangers of mercury fillings.

Well, it looks like the the FDA came out with a report recommending that pregnant women and small children avoid getting the mercury amalgam fillings. An article from MedHeadlines alerted me, heres an excerpt below…

The mercury in the fillings has the potential to produce neurotoxic complications in growing children as well as in developing fetuses. For this reason, the FDA is now urging pregnant women and anyone else who may have medical conditions making them more sensitive to mercury and other toxins to avoid getting any more dental fillings of the mercury amalgam type.

the FDA has the follwing fact sheet on their web site about mercury amalgam.
